“Nock-over”

November 13, 2015

This post serves as a bit of a recap for October (“nock-over is how Parley pronounces “October”.)

We finally managed to get up to the Hogle Zoo before Zoorassic Park 2 was over. This is similar to an event they hosted when I was a kid. Found throughout the zoo were life-size dinosaurs that moved and sounded like the real thing. (Or at least we assume, right?) The kids thought they were pretty cool. Vi thought the T-Rex was super cool and stared at him quite seriously while we waited at one point outside the reptile house.

Originally, Belle invited me to bring the kids because we thought Kristy would be induced that day with baby Jude. (The sneaky little man arrived a few days earlier on his own, but I’m sure it was still a nice break for Kristy and Jake to have Quorra be elsewhere.) We were lucky and Gigi came with us, too. It was a lot of fun and the wagon was a huge blessing. Even better, Belle pulled it most of the time. She’s the queen aunt for sure.

These two are such good friends. It makes me so happy to be able to go outside to check on them and find two gorgeous smiling chickens cuddled up together on the trampoline.

We celebrated Parley’s birthday and it was a really spectacular day. He requested pumpkin pancakes and this is him sitting in front of his plate the morning of his birthday. It is so much fun spoiling someone, trying to make their day as awesome as possible.

He had the choice of pretty much any family activity for the evening and picked Kangaroo Zoo. He loves that place and Vi enjoyed it, too. He got a lot of cool gifts and we did our best to make the day really special. I can’t believe he’s four.
