Salt Lake Comic Con

September 29, 2015

Attending a comic convention as an artist has been on my bucket list for a really long time. As long as I can remember. I finally got to do it!Β Along with two friends who work on A Donut’s Tale with me, we had a table at Burgundy 33. (The Artist Alley was divided up by color.)

I regret not having somebody take a picture of me with our table, but I basically sat in the middle hidden behind my cute little display stand.

It was a really good experience and I’m glad I got to do it. The best part was meeting new people who were as excited about art and the things I liked as I am. The reaction to my illustrations was very positive and made me feel like a million bucks. πŸ™‚

Obviously cosplay is a huge part of these conventions. There were so many amazing costumes, but these two were my favorite. The Devil from “Legend” and The Shoveler from “Mystery Men”. Everyone was a really great sport about posing for photos.

And then there was this guy. He was very serious about his cosplay and a VERY convincing Spock. He later got moved, because apparently he had stolen someone’s spot. Haha. Squatting Spock.

I had fun, but I’m relieved it’s over. I am still recovering from the whole ordeal. Driving to Salt Lake and back, three days in a row really wore me out and all of the human interaction was overwhelming. πŸ™‚
